Should you have any information or CCTV Footage that may assist our enquiries into this crime, please call 101 quoting the Crime Ref. No. 25000742258.
Please be aware that the snapping of locks on doors is now a common burglary technique that exposes the internal mechanism which can then be manipulated to gain entry. This is often used on uPVC, Composite and Aluminium doors that are fitted with standard euro locks.
By upgrading from a Standard Euro Lock to ones that meets recognised security standards such as the TS0007 3 Star Rating, or the Sold Secure SS312 Diamond Standard. These locks are designed with a sacrificial Section which snaps off when attacked leaving the crucial internal mechanism intact and the door locked. A correctly fitted Cylinder should not protrude more that 3mm from the door handle or door face, as any greater protrusion provides an easy grip point for a Burglar. The following hyperlink provides further information about this burglary technique and how to prevent it. What is lock snapping? And how can it be prevented? - ABS Secure
